The Big Funny Walk (14-15 January 2012)
As part of our ‘Big’ events series, we’ve just launched the Big Funny Walk - a walking weekend with a sense of humour. Whether you’ve walked in Snowdonia before or you’ve never visited the area, this is your chance to join us for a few laughs and plenty of relaxed, scenic walking in good company.
You’ll arrive on Friday evening when you’ll sign up to the following day’s walk choosing from a menu of carefully selected routes. The guided walks on offer will range from ‘nice and gentle’ to ‘highly challenging’, allowing you to decide what level you’d like to walk at and how hard you want to work. And if you’d rather, you’ll even have the opportunity to join a one day workshop on basic Ice axe and crampon use. When you come down off the hill on the Saturday you’ll join the other groups to enjoy a glass of mulled wine and freshly baked mince pies as you gaze out at the Snowdon horseshoe from the comfort of our bar. You’ll sit down to a hearty evening meal and possibly even enjoy a drop of our locally brewed real ale.
After dinner, The fun begins. You’ll laugh along to non-stop one-liners as you enjoy three hilarious stand up comedians in our rib-tickling comedy store evening.
On Sunday morning you’ll head out on another walk, again selecting the appropriate level from the available list. At the end of the day’s walking, you’ll return to Plas y Brenin for freshly baked cakes before leaving us on Sunday evening.
All your meals (including your packed lunch), afternoon tea and cakes, a comfy bed for the night, some great comedy entertainment and two day’s guided walking in some of the most stunning mountains the UK has to offer - all for just £165. That should bring a smile to your face.
