Pump Track Basics
If you want to improve your cornering, learn to keep your momentum going over bumps and improve your control at speed, let our coaches put you through your paces on the pump track. A short session on this purpose built on-site track will equip you with all the building blocks you need to boost your confidence and style on the trail. A highly beneficial workshop that also happens to be tons and tons of fun.
Jumps and Drops
Learn to master the big drops with ease and develop a level of confidence that means you go looking for things to jump off on this fast-moving high-end workshop.
This one is ideal for riders with experience who strive keep their wheels on the ground but secretly yearn to conquer the jumps.
Confident cornering is all about line, timing and commitment. Let our coaches help you get to grips with these fundamental concepts along with the more technical aspects of cornering at speed and your riding will be more fluid and graceful in the future. A great workshop for trail centre riders and mountain riders alike.
If you are constantly dabbing your foot down on steep uphills while other riders seem to glide effortlessly past you, maybe there are a few pointers on this session that could help. Learn to adjust your body position effectively, how to choose the best line and how to read the terrain further ahead.
Ideal for trail centre riders with little mountain riding experience.
For most riders, going down hill is when the real fun starts. Riding a steep downhill section smoothly and gracefully is a hugely rewarding experience and if you master a few essential skills that enjoyment is multiplied tenfold. On this workshop our coaches will help you tackle the steeps in style.
Ideal for anyone who lacks confidence or commitment on steep downhill sections.
Bike set up
Is your bike set up correctly for you? If you are not completely sure, why not pop along to this workshop and find out how to set your bike up for your precise shape, size and weight. Armed with these simple principles you'll be able to set up your bike precisely the way you need it.
Because when the bike is right, the riding is much more rewarding.

Customer Reviews For This Course / Holiday
Just like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all at PYB for the Big Ride (organisers, coach's, helpers, Scott bike's, kitchen staff & even the cleaner's) for making the big ride weekend such a success it was very well organised and ran very smoothly.
I found it very helpful and hopefully I'll be able to keep practicing and master all the useful coaching tips I was shown.
The only 2 thing's that could of been better was the weather and my car not breaking down and needing towing home!
Thanks again hope to join you for the next one. :-)
The Big Ride Feedback
Really enjoyed the weekend and feel my skills are vastly improved. Non-res so can't comment on facilities massively but majority were entirely adequate. Better/more bike wash facilities would save queues and frustrations. Adam Harmer instructed on all 4 sessions and deserves a mention. Excellent instructor big thanks. Perhaps the port unity to do 4 sessions of skills or 4 of trail work (more flexibility) might be a benefit. Why not offer SCOTT bikes to all rather than a bit of a free for all?
Overall a great experience, see you again!
thankyou for a wonderful weekend
i bought the weekend for a birthday present for my boyfriend and it couldnt have been better.
All the instructors were approachable friendly and extremly knowledgable. i leanrt loads and even the other half learnt a few things too.
a great weekend thankyou so much
This weekend packed a huge amount in for the £160 cost. Really felt like I got my moneys worth and I would not hesitate to come back again next year.
We both learned a huge amount on this weekend as well as having a good old laugh. We rode in some incredible places, in the pouring rain - which actually made it brilliant. Double bonus! I got to ride a Scott Genius (pretty much straight out of the wrapper) for both days and it was simply out of this world. We can't thank PYB enough for the weekend and if it happens again next year we will definitely be there. If I have saved up enough spondoolies I should even be riding my own Genius by then too.
