Our range of Outdoor First Aid courses are ideal for anyone involved in outdoor activities. For many who training to be an outdoor instructor these first aid courses are an important part of that training and assessment process, for others who are simply outdoor enthusiasts, becooming proficient at first aid can mean the difference between life and death on the hills, crags, rivers, lakes or sea.

All our first aid qualifications are nationally recognised and valid for 3 years.
All the first aid training provided at Plas y Brenin is offered under the authority of Rescue Emergency Care (REC). Our first aid courses are conducted according to Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations. REC provides a national structure in which first aid trainers can work while enhancing courses by using their own experiences and expertise. This allows Plas y Brenin to run first aid courses specifically for the outdoor mountain and water based environment. The emphasis on these courses is in practically based first aid training which will provide you with knowledge and confidence. These courses will not turn you into a medical encyclopedia but they will give you the strategies you need to manage first aid properly in an emergency. Recent changes to HSE regulations have been incorporated into our first aid training courses and are outlined below.
It is worth noting that all our first aid training courses have a large element of practical outdoor based learning. You will be outside in a real enironment whatever the conditions, so it is important to bring suitable outdoor gear. We feel that this kind of realistic outdoor first aid training is more effective in preparing you for real situations where you will need to fall back on these first aid techniques and skills

You can hire one of our coaches instructors or guides from only £250 per day. They'll tailor the day to suit your aims and aspirations perfectly.
You can enjoy one to one coaching for that cost or if you get together as a group, depending on the activity, you can split that cost between up to 6 of you. If you are a group we can run one of the courses listed above on a date that suits you and your friends or you could just write your own agenda for a week or weekend and we'll price it up for you - with or without accommodation.
What's more, just like out normal course fees, our private instructor hire charge covers all your equipment too.
