Mountain Bike Qualifications
If you lead groups in the outdoors whether as a professional or on a voluntary basis, the mountain bike qualifications listed opposite may be of use to you. We have chosen to offer the Mountain Bike Leader Award which is endorsed by The Adventure Activity Licensing Authority and Mountain Leader Training Scotland, and recognised by British Cycling. The award exists in two levels and provides training and assessment in mountain biking and leadership skills.

Experience Required: To attend the training you will need to
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have mountain biking experience in a variety of terrain and weather conditions
- Be competent in the techniques and skills
- Be able to safely negotiate the typical trail features encountered at this level of award* (as a general guide this is comparable to red graded purpose built trails)
- Be fit enough for day's riding in the level 2 leading environment
- Hold a current 2 Day Outdoor First Aid Certificate issued by an HSE registered provider
- Provide us with logbook evidence of having undertaken a minimum number of rides in the appropriate terrain within the last 6-12 months. A logbook will be sent to you when you regsiter with British Cycling

You can hire one of our coaches instructors or guides from only £250 per day. They'll tailor the day to suit your aims and aspirations perfectly.
You can enjoy one to one coaching for that cost or if you get together as a group, depending on the activity, you can split that cost between up to 6 of you. If you are a group we can run one of the courses listed above on a date that suits you and your friends or you could just write your own agenda for a week or weekend and we'll price it up for you - with or without accommodation.
What's more, just like out normal course fees, our private instructor hire charge covers all your equipment too.
