Sea Kayaking
Seak Kayaking on the North Wales coast
At Plas y Brenin we are ideally situated for sea kayaking. We have a vast private lake which offers a gentle first introduction to sea kayaking boats for complete novices. After which the varied coastal water s of North Wales are all within easy reach. It is this central location which allows us the flexibility to deliver sea kayaking courses which are tailored to the individual's needs and to the conditions.
The coastline of North Wales has an international appeal, its rugged coastline, craggy headlands, remote islands and outstanding wildlife make this area an ideal location for a sea kayaking school. Within easy traveling distance we have the scenic beauty and exciting coastal waters of Angelsey where there are always beautiful hidden coves and bays and even remote islands to explore on the north and west coasts. Our sea kayaking courses often make use of the complex tidal waters of Anglesey's coast including the world famous Menai Straits. These waters provide a perfect setting for learning essential sea kayaking skills. In addition the massive variety of water and paddling locations allows us to make the most of the weather conditions and tidal flow so we can make sure you always get the best out of your sea kayaking. For a more ambitious journey you could come with us to the wilderness of the Lleyn Peninsular to enjoys its unrivalled powerful tidal streams and remote locations.
When your sea kayaking skills are more developed you may choose to be a little more adventurous and join us on one of our self contained sea kayak expeditions, sleeping under canvas each night before continuing the journey in your sea kayaks the next morning.
This year we're even running sea kayak rolling clinics, designed to help boost your confidence by helping you develop a bombproof roll in a sea kayak, using sea kayaks in our indoor heated rolling pool and always within a quick dash from a hot shower.
