You can ski quite well. So what’s next?
To us, the answer is obvious – make your own tracks. Escape the crowds and ski off piste. Our ski safari course is the perfect first step to the freedom of ski touring, with the added luxury of our comfortable hotel to retire to at the end of each day.
If you already ski off piste, and want to explore the wild open places and acres of fresh powder. If you want to ski away from the lifts then Ski Touring is the choice for you. For the average competent skier ski touring opens up new areas of off piste wilderness that are unreachable by any other means, combining the grace and speed of skiing with the tranquility and peaceful isolation that the remote alpine valleys have to offer. Escaping the commercialized melee on the piste, a week spent touring the mountains, staying in high altitude mountain huts is a true adventure.
As a mountaineer, all that snow “could” spoil your fun. Again the solution has to be ski touring / ski-mountaineering. Any accomplished mountaineer will tell you that once mastered, the skills of ski touring will allow you access to all kinds of mountains and ice falls that are otherwise inaccessible. The ability to ski up and down hill over long distances also means that more ambitious and committing expeditions are within your reach. Ask our instructors what they think and you’ll receive the same answer from every one of them – “Ski touring is a tool the well rounded mountaineer should never be without.” “The ability to travel on skis is essential for the complete mountaineer to climb all year round.”

From easily accessible huts to the glaciated heights of Piz Buin; from day tours to classic traverses there is always an adventure to match the group and conditions.
What’s included?
This year we’ve made the accommodation all inclusive. Simply get yourself to Galtür and we will provide seven nights accommodation and six days guiding / instruction. We recommend you bring your own boots and skis but we will even provide these if you require. All you need to pay for are ski passes, your lunches and your drinks. Whilst in the valley we’ll stay in our luxury hotel, and when in the mountains there are several well appointed, comfortable huts at our disposal.

Many students have come on several of our courses more than once - and they still ask what's next. Well, for this year, here it is - a hut to hut ski tour in the snowy heart of the Alps. Meeting in Andermatt, we can enjoy a day of superb off piste skiing from the Gemsstock to get the equipment (and the legs) in order. We then set off towards the Simplon pass - along the Swiss Italian border - for five days of classic touring in search of the best skiing.
If you've skied with us before, or have a number of ski tours under your belt, then this is the perfect course to further your exploration of the Alpine winter gems. With the emphasis on completing a classic, and rewarding, journey you will continue to develop your skills under the careful guidance of our team.
The price includes equipment hire, all accommodation in Andermatt, as well as huts along the way. So all you need to pay for are your lunches and drinks. Just get yourself to Andermatt, and let us take care of the rest. |
