Environmental Statement

Plas y Brenin is a residential outdoor centre owned by Sport England. It is managed by the Mountain Training Trust, a charity committed to providing the widest range of outdoor opportunities offering the best value. The centre accommodates up to 100 people residentially and up to 100 visitors on a day visit or community use basis. The Centre has many facilities on site which is over 27 acres, some of which is designated as a SSSI.
The Centre employs approximately 100 people who live in the local area. Plas y Brenin overlooks Snowdon and the Staff work closely with Snowdonia National Park, The National Trust, Forest Enterprise and all the local land owners and farmers that are close to the Centre.

Environmental Improvement
- We will commit to long term environmental improvement and pollution prevention.
- We will continually monitor fuel consumption and set targets for fuel use reduction.
- We will encourage recycling in all our operations.
Legislation
The Centre will commit to legislative compliance at all times and use this to improve performance.
Education
The Centre aims to develop and sustain environmental awareness in staff and visitors through its educational programmes.
Recycling at Plas y Brenin:
- Glass, paper and plastic can be recycled using the appropriate recycling bin under the canopy.
- Batteries can be recycled using the battery recycling bin in the stores.
- Print cartridges can be recycled at reception.

Plas y Brenin is managed by The Mountain Training Trust (MTT) on behalf of Sport England. As a registered Charity MTT is committed to ensuring any surplus generated is channelled directly back into mountain sport and providing the best possible opportunities at the most affordable price.
