Winter Skills Awareness Day

If you're an experienced walker and you've often wondered what it feels like to wear crampons or why on earth a walker would carry an ice axe, then why not join us and find out.
On this practical outdoor day you'll get to try out crampons, use an ice axe and learn when, where and why you should use them. You go through the fundamental techniques you need to keep you safe on snow and ice and find out what is the most appropriate kit to invest in for yourself.
All of this in an enjoyable day out in Snowdonia's winter wonderland costs only £40 per head which includes axe and crampon hire. All you need is to get yourself to Plas y Brenin before 9am prepared for a day out in the hills with suitable winter walking clothing, boots, rucsac and packed lunch.

Two practical days out in Snowdonia developing the skills to give you techniques to get around the hills in confidence. Map and compass, contour interpretation and relocation skills are all covered. The fee includes meals, accommodation, instruction, and any technical equipment and transport during the course.

The Tasty Roll
Cost and Duration: £175 (2 Days)
Rolling is an essential skill for any kayaker and really beefs up your confidence out paddling. If you've never rolled before and are looking to learn, this two day intensive course is made up of easily digestible pool sessions starts with the basic ingredients and moves towards the perfect recipe for a reliable roll.
Using our indoor heated pool and video analysis of your roll our experienced coach will help you learn and develop your technique, leaving you confident and inspired ready for the up-coming winter white water session. And lets face it at £175, isn't a lot of dough.

Snowdonia Valley and Coastal Walks
Cost and Duration: £250 (5 Days)
Spend a week with our walking guides enjoying some of Snowdonia's finest, valley walks, woodland trails and coastal paths. A real mixed bag of scenic and fascinating walks in this magnificent and diverse area.
Walking for about six hours each day, you'll enjoy a gentle pace with plenty of breaks and cafe stops along with pointers from our hides on wildlife, geology, archaeology and local history.
Including five days guided walking, five nights accommodation, and all you meals, this last minute subsidised opportunity to explore North Wales on foot is simply too good too miss.
