Llynnau Mymbyr, the lake on our doorstep at Plas y Brenin, has become increasingly popular with visitors seeking to swim or take part in other water sports activities.
We would like to make all visitors aware that the lake is not supervised for general use by the public, and that anybody entering the water does so entirely at their own risk.
Plas y Brenin will not be responsible for any accidents, damage or loss incurred during any unsupervised usage of the lake.
We also kindly request that visitors always keep all access points to the lake clear, as these are in regular use for the loading and unloading of canoes and kayaks. This includes both the slipway and the area of land between the boat store and shoreline on the southern edge of the lake. Please always remain considerate towards other users of the lake.
If you would like to use the lake under expert supervision or develop the skills to stay safe in open water, please:
