Plas y Brenin are proud to be taking part in the new government-funded Kickstart Scheme. The scheme provides funding to create new job placements for 16 to 24 year olds who are on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment.
You are only eligible to apply for a Kickstart role if:
- You are aged 16 to 24 years old
- You are claiming Universal Credit
- You have been allocated a Work Coach with Jobcentre Plus

As a National Outdoor Centre, Plas y Brenin develops the people that develop the outdoor sector – from instructors to centre managers to expedition leaders to NGB officers to policymakers. This includes developing inspiring coaches, instructors and leaders in adventure sport, be they volunteers or working professionally in the sector, to better support people, from all backgrounds, to get active in the outdoors.
By hosting conferences, symposiums and meetings, we bring together practitioners from across the UK (and beyond) to share learning, transfer good practice and raise standards. This inspirational venue, with a world-class reputation, is also committed to helping individuals nurture their skills and confidence for independent adventures.
Owned by Sport England, Plas y Brenin is managed on their behalf by the educational charity, the Mountain Training Trust.
We have the following vacancies available;
Responsible for the efficient operation of the centre activity equipment, shop and sporting facilities whilst ensuring that customers enjoy great customer care and the benefit of being able to use great quality equipment.
To ensure that the accommodation, public areas and facilities are cleaned and serviced to the highest possible standards for all site users.
The post holder will work as part of a team to effectively carry-out a variety of cleaning, food service, preparation and service duties to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.
- Customer Services Advisor
The primary function is to ensure a first-class reception service where exceptional customer service is delivered for every visit or contact to the reception point. This post also incorporates a central administration element, assisting with the administrative support across the business as required
To provide support to the HR Department, answering the telephone, greeting guests, filing and collating data.
To assist the Marketing Department with marketing and commercial activity to support the organisation’s goals. To promote the centre through social media platforms
To support the maintenance department with general maintenance within the centre and outside grounds
To deliver excellent customer service from the bar, ensuring product and service standards are met, and complying with bar policy, procedures and routines to achieve maximum operating efficiency.
Training and ongoing support will be given to successful candidates.
