This two day course is ideal for you if you work at a climbing wall, or a venue with permanent or mobile climbing towers. You'll be trained in the skills you need to supervise climbers on purpose built artificial climbing walls and boulders. The Abseil Module Training is included in this course, we'll show you how to supervise abseiling on artificial structures.

The syllabus includes
Technical Competence (including equipment, belaying, personal skills and background knowledge)
Management and Decision Making (including planning, managing participants, decision making, knowledge and demonstration of techniques and managing other staff)
Teaching and Learning Skills
The Climbing Environment (including access, etiquette and ethics)

You must be at least 17 years old (18 at assessment)
You should also have at least 6 months of experience of using a variety of climbing walls and have an interest in climbing and supervising groups on climbing walls.
You must be a member of a mountaineering council: BMC, Mountaineering Scotland or Mountaineering Ireland

We want to help you to achieve your goals so comfortable accommodation (with WIFI included) and home-cooked food are part of the deal if you've booked accommodation with us. We'll also cover your in-course transport, and can arrange station pick up & drop off if you're travelling by train.Support is on hand from our friendly, and exceptionally well qualified, staff to help develop your understanding and personal skills.
