Want to get more out of your mountain biking? Let us improve your riding skills and build your confidence. This fun weekend will take you along a mixture of the natural and man made tracks that surround Plas y Brenin, giving you a varied experience that will help you to develop all round skills. Find out all about the attack position, better braking, slick gear changing, cornering, weight shift for uphills and downhills, line choice, and front and rear wheel lifts. It's an ideal choice for you if you're reasonably fit but lack confidence riding on rocky, steep or unpredictable ground.
We’re surrounded by some of the finest mountain biking routes in Europe, with world class single track routes, including the Gwydyr Forest trails and the Penmachno Trail right outside our back door. Other classic trails at Coed y Brenin and Coed Llandegla are only a short drive from our centre. Plus, there’s the iconic ride of Snowdon. But you'll also find purpose-built skills and coaching circuit and bike workshop facility with a wide range of tools and resources, plus maps to help you get the most from the area.
You'll build confidence, improve your skills, and have loads of fun.
* Please note: Itinerary is subject to weather and availability.
What to Expect
We'll start off by checking your current skills, and then coach you in the areas you want to improve in.
You should have some MTB experience.
It's great to watch people develop their skills and confidence on their bike
As both your body and mind will be working hard whilst you're with us, we want to help you focus on achieving the goal you've set yourself. So if you're staying with us, comfortable accommodation (with WIFI included) and home-cooked meals are part of the deal, you don't need to think about sorting this out for yourself. Support is on hand from our friendly, and exceptionally well qualified staff, to help develop your understanding and personal skills. They also help you to formulate an appropriate action plan for your further development. You'll also have use of our bike workshop facility. And we'll provide on site transport.
You should bring your own MTB plus your regular MTB equipment and clothing, helmet etc. You can hire a mountain bike locally and arrange for it to be delivered to our base in time for the start of your course.
We recommend that you get out riding as much as possible so that we spend the two days moving your skills forward, rather than polishing up your previous skill levels and confidence, to get he most from this course.
