Overview

You completed your Mountaineering Instructor Certificate training some time ago and want some feedback on your ability, and additional input prior to your assessment. You'll gain a clear understanding of the standard expected at assessment and have the opportunity to raise questions and build confidence to complete the assessment. This course will be delivered from our scenic winter base in Scotland, the Alltshellach hotel in North Ballachulish.

The Objectives

The aim is for you to leave the course inspired and motivated to progress on to your Mountaineering Instructors Certificate Assessment. You'll have a clear understanding of your ability in relation to the standard of the award and how to best continue your development towards assessment.

What to Exect


We'll tailor the course content carefully to meet your needs and aims. Topics covered frequently include; personal climbing, teaching climbing, short roping, and decision making.

Experience Required

You must have attended Mountaineering Instructor Certificate Training and be actively progressing towards assessment. You should have recent personal and instructional experience in the winter environment.

We want to help you to achieve your goals so if you're staying with us, comfortable accommodation (with WIFI included) and home-cooked food are part of the deal, you don't need to think about sorting this out for yourself. Your equipment hire, including snow safety equipment is included, as is in-course transport and parking. Support is on hand from our friendly, and exceptionally well qualified staff, to help develop your understanding and personal skills. They also help you to formulate an appropriate action plan for your further development.
