The Objectives

To become a trainer for REC First Aid courses.

* Please note: Itinerary is subject to weather and availability.

What to Expect

This four-day course looks at how to set up and deliver effective first aid training. The focus is on developing your training techniques in theory sessions, practical demonstrations and scenarios. It includes video analysis of lectures and practical sessions. Open, constructive feedback is used to critique styles and presentation techniques.

As part of the course you will be required to prepare presentations in the evenings of the course. You will also be required, at the start of the course, to deliver a 5-10 minute theory-based presentation on a topic of your choice, not necessarily first aid.

On completion of the course projects, you become an assistant trainer and serve an apprenticeship, observing and assisting other REC trainers and potentially become a registered REC trainer yourself.

Experience Required

You need to be an experienced and practising Outdoor Instructor and have completed REC First Aid at Work in the Outdoor Environment or, REC Advanced First Aid at Work in the Outdoor Environment, within the last three years.
