Helen Barnard – Senior Instructor

Planning & Development

Helen is Senior Instructor for Planning and Development, a role that involves her working closely with the Chief Instructor on the development and management of the instructional team and its related activities. This includes working with the senior instructional team to ensure that we have a comprehensive course programme available at all times and that we have the resources available to deliver it to the highest possible standard.

In addition, Helen oversees the International Mountain Leader department and our special courses for young people, including summer camps and schools. She also leads on a number of specific internal policy areas, most notably safeguarding.

I enjoy the enthusiasm of young people and the beautiful Alpine places I get to work in for the IML!
