Courses in Wales

Our extensive Wales-based programme is based from our home at Plas y Brenin, deep in the beautiful heart of Snowdonia National Park. The accessibility of the mountains here translates fantastically into opportunities to develop your winter skills; while the winter in Wales is not as reliable as Scotland, we have extensive facilities, equipment and experience to make sure this is never a disadvantage. Our Welsh programme is all-inclusive as standard, meaning your instruction, accommodation (currently on a single occupancy basis as part of our COVID-safe procedures), meals and equipment hire are all included in the price shown.

Courses in Scotland

Reliable winter weather and the incredible terrain of the Highlands make Scotland the UK’s number one winter mountaineering destination. As with our Wales-based programme, we offer Scottish winter courses for all abilities:

On our residential Scottish courses you’ll stay at Alltshellach, a fantastic hotel with a four-star Visit Scotland rating. To keep things COVID-safe, you’ll have your own en-suite bedroom to yourself. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities so you can have a morning or bedtime brew in the comfort of your room and all bed linen and towels are provided.

The hotel has efficient drying rooms so when you come in from a day out you can dry out any kit for the next day and there are also laundry facilities. Alltshellach also has a handy shop for any little essentials you may have forgotten such maps, poles, socks, gaiters, sit mats, postcards and a range of toiletries.

The hotel has three comfy lounges to relax in, one of which has free WiFi. There is also a cosy bar to relax in and is always well stocked with Scottish whisky and local beer.

All your meals are included, breakfast with hot and cold options, packed lunch with a choice of sandwiches, snacks, fruit, biscuits and dried fruit and nuts, and three-course evening dinner, made with local produce. Vegetarian meals are always available and any special dietary requirements can be catered just let us know in advance.
